The following list of key questions will enable DASH to begin the development process for your marketing campaign. These questions are designed to help begin discussions on strategic points that are important for the development process. Some of these questions may not be applicable to your project. If this is the case, please feel free to leave them blank.

1. During the sales process, is there any specific reason why you choose to go with DASH over other companies?

2. Project Team: Who are the individuals on your project team? Our clients typically have a main contact/project manager, and a person responsible for payment; sometimes this is the same person.

3. Approvals: There are several check points in our process where an approval will be required to proceed to the next phase. Examples include (1) Homepage Graphics Approval (2) Interior Graphics Approval (3) Statement of Work Approval (4) Beta Site Approval, etc. What is the decision-making process for your team? Who will provide final approvals?

4. Third Party Involvement: Is there expected to be any third-party relationships involved with this project? Is there any integration? If so, please specify the company and the main contact. Please Note: Our proposals typically outline any expected integration points. If the company is unknown at this time, state the reason a third-party may be needed

5. Backend Systems: What backend systems (CRM, ERP, OMS, etc.) are you using for your organization today? Are you planning on updating any of your backend systems soon?

6. Mission Statement: What is your organization’s mission and purpose?

7. What is the purpose of your website that we will be marketing? What objectives do you wish to achieve? Please Note: Your Project Manager will discuss your objectives with you and help translate these objectives into website goals as well as identify the KPIs (key performance indicators) that you would use to measure these goals.

8. Current Marketing Plan: What are the frustrations with your current marketing (if any)? Please be specific. Is there anything that is working well with your current solution?

9. Project Risks: What do you perceive as possible risks to the success of your project? Are there any events or appointments that you will utilize the new website for? If so, when will the marketing need to start to be ready for your deadlines/deliverables? Please keep in mind the typical development timeframe. Are there any internal situations on your end that would cause a delay in the project?

10. Who is the primary audience? What are their goals? What are they looking to get out of your site? How do you envision your audience using the site after launch? Are there any specific problems or issues that you can help solve for your audience? For example: “XYZ keeping you up at? Click here for a goodnight’s sleep.”

11. Do you have data supporting the traffic on your current site? Do you have an existing Google Analytics account setup for your current website(s)?

Please Note:
If you have an existing Google Analytics account, your project manager will follow up with an email address that we would like added to your account to allow us to review your current analytics. We will use this account to track the following information to help with benchmarks for post launch comparison.
• Number of visits/visitors/unique visitors (monthly average).
• Bounce rate (monthly average).
• Time on site (monthly average).
• Top performing keywords (in terms of rank, traffic and lead generation).
• Number of inbound linking domains.
• Total number of new leads/form submissions (per month).
• Total amount of sales generated (per month).
• Total number of total pages indexed.
• Total number of pages that receive traffic.
If you do not have an existing Google Analytics account, we will need you to provide the email address of the Google Account that will be associated to your new Analytics account.

12. If you have an existing site, how do you acquire traffic to your site today? If you do not have an existing site, how are you planning on driving traffic to your site post launch? Do you manage marketing campaigns internally or are you outsourcing your marketing campaigns?

13. Marketing Messages: If your customer only viewed your website’s home page, what is the primary marketing messages communicated to your customer?

14. Content: Is the content (text & images) for the marketing package available and organized or do you need to create it? Who is creating content for your advertisements and marketing now and once your project is launched?

15. Brand Guidelines: Is there a style guide that must be followed when designing the marketing materials? Are there established brand guidelines and themes that must be followed? If this information is contained in an external document, please email it to your project manager. We would like to review this information prior to the kickoff meeting.

We will typically use web safe fonts for SEO purposes and these fonts may not always match supplied branding guidelines. We will utilize the fonts within your style guide whenever possible.

16. Logo: Is there a logo for the company/website

17. Colors: If there are not branding guidelines, do you have any specific color palette preferences or requirements?

18. Photography: The photography or videos that we use in your marketing package will be one of the strongest methods to convey a consistent brand to your audience. Typically, we can define one or two consistent themes that will be utilized on a website.

a. Do you have existing branding guidelines which dictate the type of photography to use on the website? If so please describe them or provide documentation.

b. If you do not have photography guidelines, what type of photography do you feel would best convey the brand? (You may want to browse http://www.shutterstock.com/ and provide Photo ID’s as samples for us)

c. Do you have an existing library of photography or do you need assistance finding the right photographs for your website?

Images and Image Usage
If you have images for use on the homepage, please provide them to me. There will not be any additional charges for images provided. You must ensure you have proper permission to use any images provided to DASH

Stock Photography
If you do not have any images, stock photography can be purchased for use. DASH can help with photo research, but there will be a fee for any stock photos used in the design. Stock Photography has a one-time usage fee that typically is about $100 per image. Rights managed images have an annual fee that begins around $300 or more.

19. Favorable Websites: Please list a few websites, and why they are good examples for this project. They do not need to be in your industry. Are there particular features or design elements that you like and may be applicable to your project?

20. Competitor Websites: Please list competitor websites, if you know of any. Let us know what is favorable and unfavorable in terms of design, content, and functionality.

21. Taglines: What taglines should be included in the marketing solution? Is the tagline incorporated into the design of the logo? If there is not a tagline, is there something you want to use on the marketing solution (not required)?

22. Have you tried any sales or marketing strategies in the past? What worked and what didn't work?

23. What is your current monthly budget?

25. What actions to you want visitors to take? (e.g. – email opt-ins, phone calls, purchases, etc.)
